3 arrested for purchasing old coins

Dharwad, Aug 7 (UNI) Three people were arrested on the charge of purchasing 500 coins belonging to the Adilshahi, Vijayanagar and Moghul periods without obtaining valid permission.

Vijay Puttaswamy (54) and his son Sunil (24) of Mysore and Mohan Dashrathrao of Chikmagalur had purchased these coins from the localites when they went around the villages for purchase of ''Resham Zhari'' from old silk sarees.

Acting on a tip off, the police arrested the trio from a lodge.
