Youth rescues man from drowning

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Aug 6 (UNI) A man, who attempted to commit suicide by jumping into Vennar irrigation cannal was saved by a youth at Thirukkattupalli near here today.

Police said Gopalasamy(69), a retired clerk from the Co optex department decided to take the extreme step because of indifferent and uncaring attitude meted out to him by his family members.

A youth B Bhupesh (20) who was passing by, noticed the drowning man and immediately dived into the cannal to rescue him.
