Twenty-20 cricket in UP from next year

Lucknow, Aug 6 (UNI) The newly formed Uttar Pradesh Twenty-20 cricket association, affiliated to Indian Twenty-20 cricket federation, will organise a international twenty-20 cricket tournament here in Feburary next year.

Giving this information the secretary of Uttar Pradesh Twenty-20 Cricket Association Terwinder Singh told here that teams from Pakistan, Australia and England besides India would participate in the championship.

Former Ranji star and vice President of the U P twenty-20 cricket association Ubaid Kamal said prior to this international event, Under 15 and Under 17 championship for Board Trophy would also be organised in different cities of the state and dates and venues would be finalised in the forthcoming meeting of the federation to be held in October next.

Terwinder Singh disclosed that 16 teams including U P would participate in the U-19 Twenty-20 cricket championship to be held in Chandigarh in October under the patronship of Indian Twenty-20 cricket federation and the dates for the selection of state team would be finalised soon.
