Tourism Dept suspends cruisers

Vijayawada, Aug 6 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department has suspended operationg of cruisers due to floods in Krishna river, for a few days.

Talking to UNI, a department official here said the cruisers Krishnaveni, Amrapali, Boudhsiri, Vijaysiri deluxe boats and two motor boats were anchored at Punnami Berm Park.

About 24 cottages of the island were also evacuated.

The department has been operating boats from Durga Ghat to Bhavani Island in the morning and to the river side in the evening daily.

Similarly, it was also operating boats from Lotus Food Court at Prakasam barrage to Bhavani Island, the official added.
