Team India to undergo 'Cricket Skill' camp from tomorrow

Bangalore, Aug 6 (UNI) After sweating it out in army fatigues, Team India players have assembled in the garden city again to undergo Cricket Skill Camp to prepare the tri-series to be held in Sri Lanka from August 14.

The players, who had just completed a week-long fitness camp in the city, were back to gear up for the tri-series under the guidance of coach Greg Chappell who had arrived from the US yesterday.

The camp would be held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for four days from tomorrow.

Chappell was closetted with team India skipper Rahul Dravid, trainer Gregory King and Bio-Mechanist Ian Fraser to work out the details of the camp.

Irfan Pathan, Lakshmipathy Balaji and and spinner Murali Karthick, who arrived ahead of the Camp had already started practice under the tutelage of King.

Though Balaji and Karthick were not included in the team bound for Sri Lanka, they had been directed by the BCCI Selection Committee to join the camp.

According to sources, the players would perform yoga every morning before going in for net practice.

With the selection of 30 probables for the coming ICC Championship to be held on August 9, the performance of the players would be keenly watched during the camp. Selectors are expected to arrive in the city tomorrow.

During the first three days of their fitness camp, the players had undergone rigorous training at the Pegasus Centre of Excellence, 65 km from here under the tutelage of ex-servicemen. After getting a taste of army life, they spent the remaining days at the NCA.
