Rocket attack on Army convoy
Srinagar, Aug 6 (UNI) One women was killed and six police personnel were among 15 people injured while militants attacked an Army convoy with rocket in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said.
Official sources told UNI that militants hurled hand grenade towards a police party at Main Chowk Sopore. The grenade exploded causing injuries to 16 people.
The injured included a police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and five constables of the State Police.
They were admitted to different hospitals where the condition of some of them was still state to be critical.
One of the injured, identified as Sara resident of Watlab, died in the hospital.
Sources said militants today fired a rocket towards an Army convoy at Kangan, about 40 Km from here, today.
However, it missed the intended target and hit a private truck without exploding.
Later, a bomb disposal squard was rushed to the area to diffuse the rocket.
Meanwhile, a massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for firing the rocket.
