Heavy rains lash Mumbai
Mumbai, Aug 6 (UNI) Continuous downpour since last night threw life out of gear in Mumbai, affecting both road and rail traffic.
The Central and Harbour Railway have suspended servces on the main line, while trains on Western Railway are running late by 15 minutes. However, long distance trains have not been affected, Railway control room sources said.
A Central Railway told UNI, ''There is water logging on tracks at Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and some places between Kalyan and Thane. Trains have been indefinitely cancelled till situation improves.'' Water logging on tracks has also been reported at Wadala Road and Dadar stations on Central Railway.
Low lying areas like Milan Subway, Andheri, Sewree, Chinchpokhli, Lalbaug, Sion, Kurla and other areas have also reported water logging, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) control room officials said.
Fire brigade have received dozens of calls regarding uprooting of trees since last night.
