East Bengal beat Railway 3-0

Kolkata, Aug 6 (UNI) East Bengal continued their winning run in the Premier division of Kolkata Super League defeating Railway FC 3-0 at the home ground here today.

After a barren first half, East Bengal went into lead early in the second half after Dipankar Roy was brought down inside the penalty box.

Chandan Das converted the spot-kick to give a 1-0 lead to the locals.

Midway through the second half the red-golds got their second goal of the match when Dipankar's through found Vincent Pirez who tapped the ball past an advancing Railway keeper (2-0).

The final nail in the railway's coffin was hit by Raju Singh who latched on to a desperate save from the Railway keeper, off a Gounranga Dutta piledriver, to volley the ball home (3-0).

Dipankar Roy was awarded man-of-the-match.

East Bengal had earlier won their opening game of the league 2-0.
