Army foils attack, 2 killed
Guwahati, Aug 6 (UNI) Army today foiled an attack at the four Corps Headquarters of Indian Army at Tezpur by killing two ULFA cadres while the militant organisation attacked another CRPF patrol party killing one and injuring five others and in the third attack a businessmen was injured.
Two youths, coming in a bicycle in front the Gajraj Corps Cinema hall, were stopped at army check gate at 2100 hrs. As they approached the heavily fortified check gate, a powerful bomb went off killing both the ULFA militants.
There were no casualties on army side.
The army is ascertaining whether the bomb accidentally went off while being asked to stop or it was the first case of human bombs in Asom.
Meanwhile, in upper Asom, CRPF patrol party was attacked bu ultras killing one and injuring five others.
In yet another incident at Gaurisagar, a small time businessmen Sanjay Agarwal was shot thrice. He was shot at his rice mill and the incident took place at around 1915 hours.
