AP govt hikes diet charges for children

Hyderabad, Aug 06 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government has enhanced the diet charges for all boarders and inmates in Government Children's Homes of the Women Development and Child Welfare Department.

According to an official release here, the government raised the diet charges for students of classes III to VII from Rs 270 per month per boarder to Rs 338 . For the students of classes VIII to X, it was enhanced to Rs 412 from Rs 330 per month.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara reddy said the revised rates of diet charges Rs 412 per month per boarder would also be applicable to all boarders in women institutions of Women Development and Child Welfare Department.

The Chief Minister directed the Women and Child Welfare Department to take special care of the diet of the boarders and inmates of the Government Children Homes so that they should not suffer from any nutritional deficiency.
