AISF to observe 70th foundation day on aug.12th

Imphal, Aug 6: The All India Students Federation will observe its 70th on Aug 12 throughout the country.

The AISF, one of the oldest student body in the country, has taken a leading role in various students and political movements in the country.

The AISF, Manipur State Council would also observe the day at Kangla in Imphal.

The AISF said it was established on 12 August in 1936 at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and its leaders were keenly involved in all movements.

The AISF has also been active in the country and was involved in the demand for statehood of Manipur to include Manipuri in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

It is also now demanding repeal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act 1958.
