11 people arrested for assaulting RSS pracharaks

Jamtara, Aug 6 (UNI) Additional forces were deployed and 11 people of the minority community were arrested last night at Chirudih village under Narayanpur police station area in Jharkhand's Jamtara district in connection with an alleged assault on RSS pracharaks, plice said today.

The RSS cadres came to attend a conference, being held at Pabia, scheduled to begin today.

Superintendent of Police Sheetal Oraon said Debendra Prasad Gupta, Krishna Murari and five other pracharaks were engaged in publicity jobs. As they reached Chirudih, a group of religious minority community people attacked them with swords and rods.

All the seven were injured. Two of them, who were critically ill, were rushed to hospital at Dhanbad.

The authorities beefed up security measures to contain communal flare up.
