Two arrested for keeping unauthorised gas cylinders

Mumbai, Aug 5 (UNI) Two persons have been arrested following the recovery of unauthorisedly kept compressed liquid gas cylinders in their premises located in Sakinaka area of the metropolis.

Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika vigilance squad along with police yesterday raided the premises of Metro Trading Corporation and found some compressed liquid gas cylinders stored there.

The raiding party has seized a total of 105 cylinders weighing 3,993 kgs of Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, Oxygen and Argon Gas. The seized gas cylinders were later removed to the Municipal Explosive Godown at Deonar.

A complaint has been registered with the Saki Naka police and Proprietor Nasir Mohd Hussein Kapasi and accountant Vijay Ugabhai Rathod have been arrested in the matter.
