Railway contractor shot dead

Allahabad, Aug 5 (UNI) A railway contractor was today shot dead by armed assailants in Dhobighat under Civil Lines police station area here.

Police said Nanhe Khan (36) was sitting at a tea shop, when four miscreants arrived in a car and shot at him.

He sustained serious wounds and died on the spot, while the criminals fled the scene.

An old business rivalry was stated the reason behind the murder.

Sources said Nanhe had recently obtained a Rs 1.40 crore contract from Railways.

Meanwhile, a named FIR had been lodged against four persons.

No arrest had been made so far.
