Nepal, Paraguay set diplomatic relations
Kathmandu, Aug 5: Nepal and Paraguay have established diplomatic relations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The number of countries with which Nepal has established diplomatic relations has reached 120.
With the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries aim at promoting and strengthening bilateral corporation in the economic, commercial and cultural fields, the Ministry said in a statement.
The Permanent Representatives of Nepal to the United Nations, Ambassador Madhu Raman Acharya, and the Permanent Representatives of Paraguay to the United Nations Ambassador Eladio Loizaga, signed an agreement to this effect at the Permanent Mission of Nepal in New York yesterday.
Paraguay, a land-locked country is located in Central South America, bordering Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil. It is endowed with natural resources such as hydropower, timber, iron ore, manganese and limestone.
