Jeev drops to tied 8th at Sun Chlorella Classic
Hokkaido, Aug 5 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh lost the plot towards the end and dropped three shots over two holes to slip down to tied eighth after the penultimate round in the Sun Chlorella Classic here today.
The two-over 74 turned out to be Jeev's worst show of the week so far and the Indian, overnight tied third, slid to tied eigth with a three-day total of one-under 215.
Jeev started on a positive note, picking up a shot in the opening hole though he good work was undone by the bogey on the third and he parred the next six holes to complete his halfway journey.
A birdie on the 11th followed by five par shots didn't give any indications of the dangers ahead and Jeev double bogeyed the par-four 16th and followed it up with a bogey in his utterly disappointing round.
At the top of the table, Tetsuji Hiratsuka carded a four-under 68 for the sole lead at four-under 210, followed closely by the Hideto Tanihara (67) and Mitsuhiro Tateyama (71) pair just one shot behind.
