Hyderabad IIHM double murder solved

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Police have arrested the prime suspect in the July 31 murder of two hotel management students in Hyderabad.

Naveen Kumar (23), a first year student of the Indian Institute of Hotel Management, was arrested by the crime branch of Delhi Police from the New Delhi railway station last evening.

Naveen allegedly stabbed Sanoy Cherian of Mayur Vihar in Delhi, and Sanjay Giri of Meerut, his seniors in the institute while they were ragging him.

Police said the victims and some other students took Naveen and his friend Nitesh to a rented house and subjected torture.

Naveen and Nitesh were asked to remove their clothes and follow the orders of the seniors. Some time later Naveen fell down and was beaten up for disobeying the seniors.

Then a senior student placed a knife under Naveen's knees. The accused then grabbed the knife and allegedly attacked Sanjay and Sanoy. Both were rushed to a hospital where they were declared brought dead.

Naveen, a resident of Rohini, had immediately fled to Nagpur and boarded a train to Delhi.
