Hussainsagar to host laser meet

Hyderabad, Aug 5 (UNI) The picturesque Hussainsagar lake will play host to national laser standard and laser radial class competions, from tomorrow to August 12.

Announcing this here, Laser Class Association of India (LCAI) vice president Major General R S Jamwal said there would be 36 races, in five age categories.

They include laser 4.7 (for boys), youth category for laser standard and laser radial classes, apprentice masters category, masters (45-54 years) and grand masters (55-64).

The sailer who tops laser standard fleet, without discard, would be awarded with Cdr Kelly S Rao Trophy.

The meet would be jointly conducted by the LCAI, EME Sailing Association and the Secunderabad Club under the overall supervision of Lt Gen Arvind Mahajan and Asadullah Pasha, president, Secunderabad Club.

The opening ceremony, practice race and council meeting would be held on Sunday and the actual competitions would begin from Monday, Mr Jamwal said.
