Heavy rains likely within next 24 hrs

Gangtok, Aug 5 (UNI) Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Sikkim during the next 24 hours.

Met office sources said the sky will remain generally cloudy with the possibility of light to moderate rain or thunder showers lashing many areas. The region in higher hills will remain foggy, it said.

The state recorded a rainfall of 27mm during the last 24 hours.

The maximum temperature recorded was 20.4 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was 17.2 degree Celsius.
