Excise Inspector nabbed while accepting bribe

Rohtak, Aug 5 (UNI) An excise inspector has been caught red-handed by the Haryana Vigilance Bureau (VB) while he was accepting bribe from a liquor contrator here.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the accused excise inspector, Suresh Kumar, at the Rohtak VB police station following his arrest yesetrday, a VB spokesman today said.

The VB team led by Gurgaon DSP Satya Devi had laid a trap and arrested the senior official red-handed while he was taking the bribe of Rs 3,000 from the liquor contractor who had lodged a complaint against the accused, the spokesman said.

Suresh Kumar was arrested under sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
