Coca Cola plant under scanner in Asom
Guwahati, Aug 5 (UNI) Barely days after reports of high level of pesticides in soft drinks rocked the country, the Jorhat-based bottling plant of Coca Cola has come under the scanner of the Asom government.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi yesterday ordered an enquiry into the conditions of the factory after a local paper reported breach of norms by the factory.
The media report alleged that the bottling in the said plant of soft drinks giants Coca Cola in Jorhat in Upper Asom was done in unhygienic conditions and used bottles were being re-used without proper recycling.
Mr Gogoi had asked Commissioner to the Chief Minister T Y Das to conduct an enquiry and Mr Das had directed the Deputy Commissioner of Jorhat to investigate the allegations, official sources informed here today.
