BEML opens service centre in city
Hyderabad, Aug 5 (UNI) Union minister of State for Defence MM Pallam Raju today inaugurated Zonal Service Centre of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) spread over 1.7 acres in the industrial area in the city.
Mr Raju said the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) should compete with global gaints with the latest technology and provide leadership in the related sector.
BEML Chairman and Managing Director V R S Natarajan said the BEML would double its business during this year by achieving Rs 2800 crore profit as against Rs 2200 crore last year.
Stating that the new zonal service centre would cater to the customers of construction sector of Southern states, Mr Natarajan said the company has exported Rs 64 crore worth products during the last year and the BEML targets to export Rs 100 crore products this year.
He said the company was planning to appoint a BEML dealer in every state next year to catch the market in mining and construction.
BEML Director (Production) RC Suthar said the new service centre would take up overhauling of engines, transmissions and final drives, which would employ 50 people in future.
