Animal fat discovered in chocolate

Indore, Aug 5 (UNI) Animal fat has been discovered in chocolates from Indonesia being sold here.

The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has banned the sale of chocolates after its samples tested positive for gelatin.

IMC Chief Executive Officer A K Puranik said the IMC had brought samples of 'Gummi Band' chocolates from two shops. The chocolate samples did not contain vegetarian of no-vegetarian mark.

The IMC was consulting the Union Health Ministry regarding the course of action to be taken against the retailer, distributor and importer firm.
