Torrents lash Kolkata

Kolkata, Aug 04 (UNI) Several parts of West bengal, including Kolkata, were lashed with heavy rains due to the deep depression prevailling in Orissa.

Met sources here said the depression was moving fast in the north westerly direction heading towards Maharastra thereby intensifying the monsoon rains at isolated places of the state during the next 24 hours.

Weathermen have also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall here in the next few hours.

However, there has been no warning from the Met department for the coastal areas.

Maximum temperature was recorded at 30 degree Celsius, two degree less, while the minimum was 25 degree Celsius.
