Rupee closes flat at Rs 46.55/56 per USD

Mumbai, Aug 4: The rupee today closed flat at Rs 46.55/56 per US dollar as compared to the previous close of Rs 46.56 per USD, said a trader in the money market.

The domestic currency earlier opened at Rs 46.54/55 per USD and in the mid-morning session traded at 46.56/57 per USD.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate at Rs 46.54 per USD as compared to the previous rate of 46.72 per USD.

The six month forward premia was down at 1.05 per cent and the one year forward premia was flat at 1.16 per cent.

The rupee was also down against other world currencies against Euro it was down at Rs 59.55 (59.52) and against Pound Sterling it was down at Rs 88.07 (87.77), while against Yen it was up at Rs 40.32 (40.51).
