Premier Business Development Excellence model launched
Bangalore, Aug 4 (UNI) The Business Development Institute International (BD-Institute) USA, a non-profit organisation, and Software Quality Center (SQC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of US based Software Quality Center LLC, today launched the premier Business Development process improvement, excellence and benchmarking model, BD-CMM in India.
Addressing newspersons here, BD-I Executive Director Howard Nutt, said his company had selected the SQC, one of the top five full service IT and best practices consulting service company, as their exclusive representative for the subcontinent of India and developed BD-CMM, the grandest known benchmarking model in the industry for software intensive systems development.
He said the model was the result of combined efforts of 60-plus organisations, including major US defence contractors, commercial companies and international organisations, since 2000. It's advantage was that it was built on the framework of models that had been tried and tested in the industry and widely-accepted as a de-facto standard.
The model provided users with a framework, a path, and a guide for achieving dramatic process improvements in their organisations.
It encompassed the full BD life cycle and organisational components, including advance marketing, sales, sales account management, proposal development and others engaged in the BD enterprise.
Mr Kris Puthucode, CEO, SQC, the first-ever International Licensee for BD-I, said the SQC had plans to organise a series of seminars and 'Adoption runs' in major cities to help widespread adoption of the model, in addition to providing very high end consulting and benchmarking appraisals against the BD CMM.
The company, which was bringing the model to India and South-East Asia, was also targetting at least two to four early adopters across Industries over the next two years. The seminars would also be aimed at Small and Medium Enterprises in India in Tier II and Tier III cities, he added.
