Opp to boycott assembly if monsoon session not extended
Patna, Aug 4 (UNI) Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi today threatened to boycott assembly proceedings if the ongoing brief session of the legislature was not extended.
Ms Rabri Devi told newspersons in her assembly chamber that the state was reeling under flood and drought and a special debate should be held in the House. She said other issues like land scam and law and order should also be enlisted in the business of the House.
She alleged that the government was shying away from the issue and to save its face had deliberately convened a very brief session.
''Convening a session of the House would be insignificant if these burning issues remain unnoticed,'' she opined.
Ms Rabri Devi said the entire opposition would soon hold a meeting to finalise a common strategy on the issue.
