Pondicherry, Aug 4 (UNI) A remark against the government by AIADMK Legislature party leader A Anbazhagan led to noisy scenes in the Assembly today.

Participating in the general discussion on Budget, Mr Anbazhagan made the remark against the government, which was later expunged by Speaker R Radhakrishnan.

Immediately, the treasury benches, DMK MLAs and CPI member R Viswanathan were on their feet shouting at Mr Anbazhagan and questioning him on making the remark, leading to noisy scenes.

At one point Mr Anbazhagan told Mr Viswanathan that if he wanted to support the government, he could have got a seat in the ruling party side where the PMK and three independents were seated.

(Mr Viswanathan of the CPI, who was also supporting the government , sought and got a seat in the Opposition benches).

Later, the Speaker expunged the remark to bring order in the House and allowed Mr Anabzhagan to continue with his speech.

Mr Anbazhagan stuck to his remark and continued his speech which was marred by interruptions.
