Newly-wed killed for dowry

Jamshedpur, Aug 4 (UNI) A twenty-year-old newly-wed woman was allegedly hanged to death by her husband and in-laws at Chhota Govindpur under Telco police station area here.

Police today said Rinki Singh's father lodged a complaint with Telco police station yesterday alleging that his daughter was killed for dowry and her in-laws and husband used to torture her regularly.

They even demaded car as dowry.

Police recovered the pregnant woman's body from her bedroom yesterday and arrested Rinki's husband Amar Kumar, a Telco employee, and father in-law Ramnarayan Singh on the basis of Rinki's father's complaint.

The body has been sent for post-mortem.
