Man killed in elephant attack

Kolhapur, Aug 4 (UNI) A 48-year-old man was killed after being attacked by an elephant in the Radhanagari forests in this district.

The deceased has been identified as Ramchandra Shankar Kondawale from Bhairibambar village in Radhanagari tehsil, police and forest sources said today.

Ramchandra was a daily-wage worker employed by the forest department at the Patpanhala-Asangaon area of the Radhanagari forest.

According to a complaint lodged with the police by the forest department authorities, Ramchandra's body bore wounds that had been inflicted by an elephant's tusk.
