Eight Trinamool leaders granted bail

Kolkata, Aug 4 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court today granted bail to eight Trinamool Congress leaders charged with arson and destruction of houses in December 2000.

They were all sent in 15-day judicial custody by a district court yesterday.

The eight leaders, including Pankaj Banerjee and Sanjoy Bakshi, challenged the order in the High Court this mornning and asked for bail.

A two-judge bench presided by Amit Talukdar heard the petition and granted them bail.
