Air Force rescue five children in flash flood
Jammu, Aug 4 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police with the help of Indian Air Forces (IAF) personnel have rescued five children at Dewak Nallah at Maltiya Samba of Jammu district today.
Police said the five school going children Ashwini Kumar, Vivek Sharma, Dwarka Nath, Girdhari Hari and Balvinder Kumar were trapped in a flash flood in devek nallah this morning.
The police immediately called Air Force personal and rescue operation was started. All five children were rescued from the nallah.
Meanwhile the dead bodies of two persons who were swept away in a flash flood in a nallah at Basoli in Kathua district, were recovered. They were identified as Darshan Kumar and Pritam and the search operation to recover the body of the third was going on.
All the rivers and nallahs including Chenab and Tawi were flooded with water following the incessant rain during the past few days, police said. The authorities have advised the people, particularly those living near rivers and nallas, to move to safe places.
