Student leader murder accused arrested

Siddharthnagar, Aug 3 (UNI) Police arrested a student leader murder accused, when he was trying to give a slip to police en route to Basti district late last night, police today said.

The arrested Chandra Pratap of Sahjanwa in Gorakhpur district is one of the prime accused in the July 31 killing of student leader Rakesh Maurya in Khalilabad town of Sant Kabirnagar district.

Two other named accused had already been arrested.

The killing had caused widespread resentment among students, who went on a rampage.

Meanwhile, all schools and colleges in Sant Kabirnagar will now reopen on Monday.
