Jaipal's dig at LDF on airport modernisation

Chennai, Aug 3 (UNI) Union Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Minister S Jaipal Reddy today had a dig at the ruling Left Front in Kerala on the airport modernisation issue.

Inaugurating ''Suminfra-2006--A Summit on Sustainable PPPs in Infrastructure'', organised by the CII here, he referred to Kerala PWD Minister P J Joseph's speech welcoming PPP mode in infrastructural projects and cited the Nedumbassery International Airport as a classic example for PPP mode.

In a veiled reference to Left's opposition to privatisation of major airports in the country, Mr Jaipal Reddy said ''I hope that your partners (Left) would adopt the same attitude towards the UPA government at the Centre.
