HC seeks CBI reply on BJP MLA murder case
Allahabad, Aug 3 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has asked the CBI to seek instruction as to whether the entire record related to the murder case of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai had been handed over to it by the Uttar Pradesh government or not.
Justice D P Singh passed the order on a contempt petition filed by Rai's widow Alka, alleging non-compliance of the HC order in this regard.
Chief standing counsel C B Yadav informed that the case was transferred to CBI by a notification of July 27, 2006.
The statement was opposed by the petitioner's counsel saying entire records were yet not transferred.
The court fixed August 14, 2006 for next hearing, by which date the CBI will inform the court about the present status of the case.
