Five policemen suspended

Dumka, Aug 3 (UNI) Five policemen, including four sub-inspectors, were suspended for not following regulations while registering a case of scheduled caste and scheduled tribes in Jharkhand's Dumka district.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sidhu Hembram suspended Shiv Nath Prasad, Awdhesh Kumar Sinha, Hridyanath Jha, Sujit Kumar (all sub-inspectors) and Virendra Singh, SP's reader, on the direction of director general of police B D Ram.

The suspended policemen were charged with not taking proper steps while registering a case of manhandling a scheduled caste person at Pahrudih village of the district.
