Congress to analyse Pathak Committee report

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Congress party today said it will analyse the Pathak Committee report, which probed into the Volcker allegations, before deciding its final stand on the report.

''The Congress reserves the right to study and analyse the report of the Pathak Committee which probed the Volcker allegations before deciding its further course of action,'' Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.

He further added that the party knew from day one its position in the case. He said the Volcker never replied to the queries met by the party.

Meanwhile, sources indicated the Congress is likely to serve a showcause notice to Mr Jagat Singh who has been indicted by the Pathak Committee for misusing his position.

The Pathak Committee is believed to have given a clean chit to the party in the report submitted to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today.
