CITU activists burn GO 5
Vijayawada, Aug 3 (UNI) Activists of Centre for Indian Trade Union (CITU) led by its State Secretary B V Krishna burnt the copies of Government Order (GO) five, near Raghavaiah park here today.
The CITU was protesting against the GO, aiming to retrench 65,000 employees from 30 Public Sector Units (PSUs) in the next three years.
Mr Krishna demanded the State Government to immediately review the GO instead of keeping it in abeyance.
He said CITU would continue its agitation on the GO. He accused the Congress Government of following the same policies as the TDP in the World Bank diktat.
He asked the Government to take into consideration the views and anguish expressed by the employees and trade unions against the GO.
Earlier, the CITU leaders and activisits took out a rally from Sundariayya Bhavan to Raghavaiah park on the issue.
