18th Alphonsa pilgrimage on August five

Kottayam, Aug 3 (UNI) The 18th pilgrimage to the ancestral home of the blessed Alphonsa under the auspices of the Changanacherry Archdiocese Cherupushpa mission league will be held on August five.

Addressing a press conference here today Cherupushpa Mission League Director Fr Joseph Manakkalam and other leaders said elaborate arrangements were made for the pilgrimage and thousands of pilgrims would participate in the solemn ceremony.

The first pilgrim group from Athirampuzha region would reach Kudamaloor ancestral home of the blessed Alphonsa at 0900 hrs on August five, the second group from Kottayam Forane churches at 1045 hrs, the third pilgrim group from Alappuzha at 1200 hrs and fourth fron Changanacherry region at 1400 hrs.

He said pilgrims from Thiruvanthapuram, Kollam and other regions would also participate in the ceremony.

Arch Bishop Mar Joseph Powathil, Bishop Rev Dr Sebastian Thekkethecheril, Bishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam and other leaders would deliver the message, he added.
