Two pilgrims drowned in Kangra
Kangra, Aug 2 (UNI) Two pilgrims from Nawansher in Punjab drowned in a river in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh last evening while taking a bath, police sources today said.
Balvinder Singh, 26, and Lovely, 18, both residents of Nawansher in Punjab, drowned in Bathu River while they were taking bath with five other youths.
The sources said the two could not be saved since the water current in the river was strong.
The pilgrims were here to pay obeisance at Bajjreshwari temple at Kangra town and other famous temples of the area.
The bodies were later recovered and sent for post mortem, the sources said, adding that a case has been registered and investigations were on.
