Trapped Monitor lizard rescued
Chennai, Aug 2 (UNI) A two feet long monitor lizard was rescued by the forest officials from a house at suburban Velachery here last evening.
The rare species, Varanus Bengalis, was found trapped inside the house.
Acting on information from the inmates, forest department officials rescued it and took it to the Velachery Forest Range Office.
The reptile, which feeds on insects, small birds and rats, would be released in the wild.
