TCCI, Dr Reddy's Foundation to train 'underprivileged youth'

Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) Tata Council for Community Initiatives and Dr Reddy's labs today announced a new initiative NEEV, "The Foundation," to enhance employability skills and opportunities for under privileged youth.

Tata Projects Ltd Managing Director K P Singh and Dr Reddy' Foundation Anuradha Prasad singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Sponsored by the Andhra Pradesh Government departments of Rural Development, Youth Services, Municipal administration, NEEV intends to provide market-oriented and demand-driven livelihood opportunity training programmes at the Livelihood Advancement Business School(LABS) of TCCI, they told reporters.

''We believe that livelihood development cannot take place without direct intervention of corporates'', they opined.

Tata Tele services, Tata Projects, TCS, VSNL, Voltas, CMC, Rallis, Taj group of hotels and SERvizsol would form part of the initiative, Mr Singh informed.

Dr Reddy's Foundation, would undertake market feasibility studies, conduct focus group discussions based on recommendations and pilot the final programmes in existing LABS centres, she said.
