Santosh, Jabbar bag 'Mushtaq' award

Kozhikode, Aug 2 (UNI) News Photographer K K Santosh of the 'Mathrubhumi' and 'Madhyamam' Chief Reporter C K A Jabbar have been selected for 'Mushtaq' Sports Journalism Award.

Mr Santosh bagged the award for his picture ''Parakkum Goli'' carried by the daily on November 5 while Mr Jabbar got it for his series of articles ''Business Footballinte Panthxattam'' which appeared in 'Madhyamam' from December 22 to 28 last year.

The award, instituted by the Calicut Press Club in association with Kozhikode District Football Association, carries a cash prize of Rs 5,000 each and citation, a release here today said.

Mr Santosh also got the Udayan Sharma Foundation Photo Journalism Award, the Kerala State Award and Victor George Smaraka Award instituted by Kerala Union of Working Journalists' Trust for his outstanding contribution to photo journalism this year.

Mr Santosh is presently posted at the Kozhikode edition of the daily while Mr Jabbar is the Malappuram Bureau Chief.
