Nitesh Estates to set up SEZ in Mangalore

Bangalore, Aug 2 (UNI) Keeping in tune with the Karnataka Government's strategy to develop Tier II cities into IT hubs, Nitesh Estates, the real estate division of the Nitesh Group, proposed to set up a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the port city of Mangalore.

Announcing this in a release here today, the company said a two million sqft of SEZ would be developed as per international standards to offer the finest spaces to work, with a world-class ambience.

The SEZ, to be completed by early 2009, would have state-of-the-art IT space with training centre, R and D, support infrastructure such as housing for employees and other critical infrastructure.

The proposed project in Ganjimutt would provide employment opportunity to over 10,000 people.

''Mangalore is fast evolving as a major IT/ITES and BPO destination, with major international investors and multi-nationals looking at the city as a hub of varied business,'' the release said, quoting Nitesh Estates Director (Operations) Vaidyanathan.
