NHDC to venture into thermal sector

Bhopal, Aug 2 (UNI) The Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation is actively considering to venture into thermal power generation, its Managing Director S K Garg said.

Mr Garg was addressing a function here yesterday to mark the NHDC's 6th foundation day.

Lauding the completion of Indira Sagar project ahead of schedule and the resolve to complete the Omkareshwar project on time, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister S S Chouhan said it would be considered to assign responsibility of more hydel power projects to NHDC.

NHDC Chief Executive Director S K Dodeja said the corporation's achievement to complete mega hydel projects was being treated as yardstick for similar projects.
