Mysore jail recommends release of 50 jail birds
Mysore, Aug 2 (UNI) The Mysore jail authorities have prepared a list of 50 prisoners, including eight women jail birds, to be released on the occasion of Independence Day and sent it to the State Government for approval.
According to Jail Superintendent M C Viswanathiah, the list had been prepared on humanitarian grounds, keeping in view the number of years they had spent in prison and their conduct. It had been sent to the Inspector General (Prisons) following his instructions.
Last year, 19 people had been released from Mysore jail, he added.
