Municipal Authorities concentrate on Master Plan: CM

Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA and UD) to concentrate on their core functions of planning, implementation of master plan, road network, facilitating layouts and townships development and leave the development control functions to the local bodies.

The Chief Minister issued directions while reviewing the performance and functioning of Urban Development Authorities of Tirupati, Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri, Visakhapatnam, Kakatiya and Sri Satya Sai, in his chamber at Secretariat.

The Chief Minister appreciated the development works and preparation of master plans taken up by the Urban Development Authorities. Master Plans of Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Sri Satya Sai were approved while the revised Master Plan of HUDA and HADA are under approval. The revised Master Plan of Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri UDA had been finalised and would be submitted to the government soon. The Master Plan of Kakatiya UDA is expected to be completed by July 2007.
