Multiplex theatres to install CCTVs, metal detectors

Mumbai, Aug 2 (UNI) Owners of multiplex theatres across the city will install closed circuit televisions and metal detectors at the theatres as security measure.

About 20 owners of multiplex theatres attended a meeting with police commissioner A N Roy and apprised him of the security measures being implemented by them.

The owners informed Mr Roy that they will install CCTVs, metal detectors and even X-ray scanners at the theatres.

Mr Roy told reporters later that the police department has made some suggestions to the State Government pertaining to security arrangements at the multiplexes.

Among other things, it has been suggested that licenses should be issued to new multiplex theatres only after being assured of proper security measures by the owners. The owners of the multiplex theatres are also scheduled to meet Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on August 4.
