More refugees arrive from Lanka

Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 2 (UNI) As many as 49 Sri Lankan Tamil refugees reached Dhanuskodi near here from the island nation today.

Sources said the refugees, comprising 16 families, fled home and reached Tamil Nadu coast by three boats this afternoon.

The refugees belonged to Jaffna, Killinochi, Kodigamam and other areas.

Tamil Nadu had been receiving a steady inflow of refugees from the Emerald Isle following renewed fighting between the Sri Lankan Army and the LTTE.
