Mobile hospitals to cover MP districts
Bhopal, Aug 2 (UNI) With a view to promote institutional delivery and maximise health facilities in rural areas, mobile hospitals will be launched in Madhya Pradesh.
Two districts will have speciality mobile hospitals, while two blocks each in 10 districts will have mobile hospitals. Mobile dispensaries would be launched in other 25 districts, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said here today while addressing a workshop on safe motherhood.
Expressing deep concern over higher maternal and infant mortality rates in as compared to Madhya Pradesh other states, he said the government's endeavour was to check maternal and infant mortality rates. Mobile dispensaries started on an experimental basis proved to be successful, he said.
Mr Chouhan said constant efforts led to considerable increase in institutional delivery from 26 to 46 percent in 10 months.
Adequate funds would be provided for research in medical colleges, he added.
